0800 043 6644The course was added relatively recently as a sister to the already established Quinta da Ria layout, and offers a good challenge to golfers of all abilities. Quinta de Cima is pretty open, allowing you to open you shoulders from the tee, but distance is not everything; the course is peppered with obstacles that include trees and cavernous bunkers. The course was designed by Rocky Roquemore, whose excellent projects are evident throughout Portugal, and measures 6,842 yards.
The best holes at Quinta de Cima are saved for the end, as 16, 17 and 18 are all spectacular holes, while the sea and mountain views make a round here all the more special.
Excellent - very enjoyable
Loved the course , some great holes and in super condition, lots of staff and very helpful
Some of the fairways were a bit scabby but overall a really nice course. Needed refreshment buggy to be around but had to wait until 15th.
Great course in great condition. They had brought our tee times forward by 20 mins from those we were booked. Although I found later they had advised this on the schedule they gave me, it had not been pointed out and I'd missed it. Made for a real rush to the tee. For our second round they had moved us to a 10th tee start. The picturesque and challenging 16th, 17th & 18th are a great way to finish the round and so this was disappointing. Same lack of refreshments on course.
Great course, well condioned and fast, true greens. Problem was we were bumped from 1st tee 0930 to 10th tee 0940 and put with a man and wife, neither of whom were very good. Very nice people but she was awful. Result - slow play and missed our slot at first. Got to play after manager came out but was not nice experience. We did not ask to be partnered nor put off the 10th!
A good colf course, although we probably preferred Quinta da Ria.
This is the longer of the two courses. It doesn’t feature the same views. It also has a tough finish. 16 is a difficult the first time you play it. 17 is a nice par 3, over water and there is a challenging drive awaiting on 18.
Excellent course in very good condition, would love to play here again.
Great course but again no buggies booked and a tough walk in the heat
When we arrived we found that YGT had not paid the course and they refused to allow us to play unless we paid, very disappointing.
General consensus this was the 2nd best course we played, (ria, cima & vale). Greens were quick (not as quick as ria) but place and facilities top notch, we will come back!
Immaculate course with excellent greens
A great course for recreational (bogey) golfers. Well manicured and quickish greens but not super fast. A bit crammed in for the first 3-4 holes but opened up after that. Wider fairways than Ria. Enjoyed two rounds here.
Superb condition can’t fault the course
Great course, greens were fast despite the rain, wet in places on fairways due to rain.
Very good courses.
too many bunkers!
Very busy but would play again
Course in good condition but slow
Not enough buggies on hire but completed round in good time
great course , bar & restaurant was not open
Great course very difficult but very enjoyable experience. No clubhouse open on second visit on Monday 19/06 no food available after round and only cans of beer from shop . No inside seating away from sun .
Of the two all of us preferred de Ria, absolutely perfect course good match to any course in the Villamoura region
Excllent course. Rather long. But enjoyable
Very windy day and warm .course playing long but excellent condition. Made better with one of our lads getting a hole in one on the 2nd
Both courses in superb condition, miles better than Monte Rei. Very busy but reasonable pace of play. Terrace food and drinks very enjoyable and service exceptional.
Great course, really enjoyed it. Condition was excellent, really intresting course.
The course is in excellent condition as always. From tee to green it's pretty much immaculate. Unfortunately it's become painfully slow ( we played three rounds here during the week and at weekend) stuck behind groups that had a professional with them who was also putting took forever and we pretty much lost the will to live. Will not return. Really not helped by the fact that when we arrived we were told that Your Golf Travel had not paid so we had a choice to either not play or pay again and reclaim the money from YGT. After three phone calls to YGT it got paid but v embarassing and literally with one minute before our tee time. V stressful.
First time played this course, lovely setting but had to make sure golf ball was driven to correct area on fsirway
See above.
Greens had been hollatined a few weeks ago but played well
Same comments as Ria
A great golf course beautifully presented some difficult and long par 4's but well worth playing. Only dissapointed was that the clubhouse closed at 6.30pm meaning none of our group were in before it closed.
Beautiful Course and club house
I found this the harder of the two and although pretty doesn't have the sea views. Fairways not as good as the Ria, but I'm being picky. It's a good course and is kept as a resort course should be to find balls when wayward and keep play going.
A more difficult course because of length but very playable.
One of the best on the Algarve
A much more pleasant experience than its sister course Ria. The greens were nice and slick although there were a few bare spots on the fairway that should have been marked GUR. The facilities are currently being renovated, hence the low rating. Once finished it will be a much better venue.
A fine course and a fair layout. Not quite as picturesque as de ria and a bit more room off the tee. However some great holes and a good test of golf. Great value and a must play if in the area.
Good test of golf worth a second visit.
Stunning golf course in great condition. Superb views. Loved it. We had a buggy but it's a flat course and we could have walked it. Would certainly return to play again
long and difficult
Every time we play Quinta de cima the course is in good condition.
The trouble is all the holes looked the same : longish par 4’s and the par 5’s the same just a bit longer. Not contour rich and the back nine was the same as the front in that it is was long with plenty of bunkers ,except the last par 3 over the water.
Excellent golf course in great condition. Whilst a challenge it is a fair golf course with some difficult holes. The week we played it was in far better condition than the sister course, Quinta Da Ria. The new clubhouse area is looking good. It was not ready for our trip (we were advised so no problem) but the temporary facilities were very good.
