Originally founded in 1813, Scotscraig is home to the 13th oldest golf club in the world, and an exceptional golf course. It is more of a cross between links and heathland, but its proximity to the sea ensures it is buffeted by the coastal winds.
With Scotscraig being a Final Open Qualifying venue, it allows for a fabulous test of golf. The course was redesigned with the assistance of James Braid in 1923 and more recent changes have seen gorse removed, which allows for a more links style feel and open play.
In recent years the Scotscraig Experience was released, allowing you the golfer to experience the history of the Club, a tour round the history laden Clubhouse and where some famous golfers hit their shots from. Ideal for travel around Dundee and St Andrews area.

0800 043 6644When the Open Championship returns to St Andrews in 2010, Scotscraig will continue its tradition of being a final qualifying host, an honour it has held since 1984. in fact, its ties with the Auld Grey Toon are well entrenched. In fact, the founding of Scotscraig was aided by existing Royal & Ancient members, and the first Gold Medal Trophy was held here in 1818; this famous amateur tournament is still contested annually.
Follow in the footsteps of famous names like Ian Baker-Finch, Brian Barnes, Justin Rose and Sam Torrance by tackling treacherous holes like the 4th. Despite measuring only 366 yards, a visit to any of the deep, revetted bunkers that guard the left hand side could ruin a good round.
The helpful employees are always keen to welcome guests to the comfortable clubhouse and well-stocked clubhouse.
Sky's Richard Boxall won Open Qualifying here in 1995, perhaps his greatest achievement outside his 1990 Italian Open triumph
A nice, simple municipal golf course. Overall decent condition - layout a bit odd with crossing fairways and tee boxes. Would not play it again simply because it is an average municipal course. But glad we got the chance.
Front nine seemed harder than the back nine. Very fast fairways due to dry weather.
Also excellent golf course, again just pipped by Panmure
