The hotel arrangement is quirky. It has a private car park with key pad controlled access and with a courtyard that acts as an evening venue for music. The bar and thus the bar food service was very busy. The building is reported to be the home of Arthur Guiness. The hotel furnishings probably need an upgrade but nevertheless acceptable. It wasn't possible to control the room temperature. For some reason we were given a family room with a smallish double and single. It wasn't possible to change it, although the receptionist did try but couldn't find a possible swap. The room was clean but the service was diabolical. We left the room at 9am in the morning and didn't return until 4pm and our room had not been cleaned. We complained to the reception and they promised to get someone to attend to the room. By 9pm it still had not been touched, although the reception was under the impression that it had been serviced. Breakfast on the second morning was exceedingly slow. They only had two waiters, one who arrived a little while after we sat down was attending to the orders for cooked breakfasts and the other clearing tables etc. It took well over an hour to get served with cooked food. The hotel was clearly understaffed in key areas.
