Portmarnock Golf Club's incredible links land is home to one of the most revered golf courses in the UK and Ireland. A consistent feature within the World's Top 100 Golf Courses, Portmarnock Golf Club is a golfing challenge that has hosted the very best in amateur and professional golf.
Located just north of Dublin, this breathtaking links course dates back to 1894 having originally been laid out by Open Championship winner Mungo Park as a 9-hole golf course, it was extended to 18 holes just 2 years later. A further 9 holes were added in 1971 making this a 27-hole golfing masterpieces that is considered by many to be one of the natural seaside links golf course experience anywhere in the world.
Past champions at Portmarnock Golf Club include Arnold Palmer and Sam Snead who won The Canada Cup in 1960, Seve Ballesteros who won 1986 Irish Open and Phil Mickelson who was part of the victorious 1991 Walker Cup Team. Other Champions who have claimed The Irish Open at Portmarnock include Bernhard Langer, Jose-Maria Olazabal and Ian Woosnam.
